Our students are trained in the Australian Teachers of Dancing Ltd (ATOD) syllabus for Jazz, which includes three separate styles; Jazz A, Jazz B, and Jazz Moves. Jazz in a continually changing and evolving genre with many styles such as Broadway, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Funk and Lyrical. The ATOD syllabus incorporates warm ups, stretches, floor and corner work along with kicks, jumps, historical and modern steps, combinations and dances and was created with the help of Paul Malek (former VCASS, Disney, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Jean-Ann Ryan Productions, P&O Cruises). Our jazz classes are designed to technically develop students to reach their individual potential, as well as expand their creativity with choreography and improvisation.
We offer classes from Preschool Jazz (2.5 years+ ) to Advance (16 years+) to Adult (20 years+).
Classes include warm up, movement and technique training and last for 45 mins to 1 hour. Each dance group learns several dances throughout each term with 1 or more dances being selected for the final SHOWTIME concert held at the end of the year.
